DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker continues to grow to meet our financial forecasts by signing contracts for some of the largest infrastructure projects nationwide. Our Great Lakes Aviation group is seeking a Project Manager to support current workload and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to expand our client base. This position will provide potential growth opportunities to become a Department Manager or a Regional Practice Lead. Part of the strategy for this hire is to be sure the Region has a succession plan in place for the Regional Aviation Leadership. This position will be part of the succession planning.
Position Responsibilities
- First and foremost, take over management of current workload.
- Client management.
- Provide technical support to younger staff.
- Provide business development support to the Regional leadership.
- Project planning, Project Management Plan development, schedule development, work breakdown structure development, budget management, project monitoring and control, quality management, leadership and management of project teams.
- Preparation of scopes of work and fee estimates.
- Ownership and commitment to adhering to project timelines, budgets, project efficiency, and identifying, managing and tracking project changes.
- Assure that technical quality of projects is achieved.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with clients, other project managers and project team members.
- Strong design, technical, and communication skills (both visually & verbally) are essential.
- Lead Landside and/or Airside design teams in Aviation Projects.
- Be a proactive resource to project teams in their decision-making processes and in the development of technically sound and innovative planning and design solutions.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 10 years of specific Aviation Design and project experience.
- Demonstrated history of successful development and leadership on airport projects.
- Knowledge of FAA processes and requirements including grant administration.
- Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars.
- Airfield pavement management and design experience using FAARFIELD.
- Experience with PAVER is preferred.
- Industry engagement is preferred.
- Project management experience.
- Business development experience.
- Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with clients.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
Compensation
In an effort to maintain transparency to our clients as well as the many job seekers interested in Michael Baker, the salary range for this position is between $141,464 to $233,425 . The exact amount will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
