A reputable Nonprofit in Manhattan looking for a self starter HR assistant to join their fast paced team and support with all HR duties.
Job Description
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee files such as required documents for licensed/certified professionals
- Screen telephone calls and answer routine inquiries
- Prepare new hire packets, on boarding material
- Conduct background checks for new hires
- Add new hires into system and ensure enrollment of employees in eligible benefits
- Complete requests for employment verification and changes to personal information
- Post open positions on the applicant tracking system and job boards
- Assist with other HR/Payroll duties as assigned
The Successful Applicant
- 1 year of experience in HR
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Familiarity with payroll processes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite products
- Ability to quickly learn a variety of HR/Payroll processes
- Experience with work day or ADP HRIS systems preferred
- A true temp to perm position
- A typical 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM work schedule
- Overtime eligible position
