Reporting directly to the Director of HR, the HR Manager will be a true generalist responsible for overseeing all HR functions. This role is four days a week in the office in Midtown, one day work from home.

Description
- Lead the recruitment process from job posting to onboarding.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Conduct interviews, reference checks, and coordinate with hiring managers.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations practices.
- Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the HRIS.
- Train staff on the new system and ensure data accuracy and security.
- Continuously improve HRIS functionality and user experience.
- Lead the initiative to transition HR operations to a paperless environment.
- Develop and implement a detailed project plan, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate digital solutions.
- Supervise the HR Specialist, providing guidance and support.
- Manage employee records, benefits administration, and performance management.
- Conduct training sessions and professional development programs.
- Ensure all HR practices align with the institution's mission and values.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HRIS implementation.
- Strong project management skills, particularly in transitioning to paperless systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and current labor laws.
- Experience in a cultural or non-profit institution is a plus.
Job Offer
This role offers competitive compensation based on experience (70-94K annually) and fantastic benefits. This role offers hybrid flexibility for 1 day a week. This role also works out of a historical New York City landmark.
