Description
The responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Manager are
- Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of food products
- Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, shipments, and warehouse productivity.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of food products.
- Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and labor productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Profile
A successful warehouse operations manager candidate must have
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (5 years) in warehouse management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
