Overview: Working inside Manufacturing Operations, the Engineering Technician will provide detail electronic diagnostic skills for complex products with focus on our Sync Products. The right candidate will be self-motivated, extremely customer focused, and work well as part of our team. Under the guidance of the Department Supervisor, along with the Department Manager, the Engineering Technician will carry out the instructions of a product Acceptance Test Procedure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support of released products through their life-cycle
- Experience with the operation of various types of standard test equipment, such as; frequency and stability test stations, temperature and environmental test chambers, and associated Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Working with the Product Engineers, assist in the failure analysis of production issues to identify root cause and establish corrective actions
- Maintain and monitor the various Automated Test Equipment; assuring uninterrupted product flow through the production process
- Assure that all the pertinent assembly/test product documentation is accurate
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts of product and process
- Assist with reviewing and coordinating production and general operations, such as scheduling, inventory management, quality, and maintenance requirements.
- Perform non-established, non-routine testing or troubleshooting of components, devices, modules or products.
- Perform vibration and shock testing of products and devices.
- Identify and recommend disposition of defective components.
- Assist in the training of less experienced technicians.
- Rework products to meet customer specifications. and other related duties as required
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum AS Degree in technical discipline or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 5 years Manufacturing/Test Experience
- Working knowledge of quartz crystal oscillators, PLL circuitry and general electronic disciplines
- Ability to read schematics, and experience with troubleshooting RF, analog and digital electronic circuits.
- Experience with electronic test equipment, including measurement equipment. This includes, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in diverse product engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently. Ability to design and execute test plans with minimal oversight.
- Flexible and willing to take on whatever tasks are required
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and quality assurance principles
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Microsoft Office. (Excel, Word, Access)
- Familiar with handling and safety procedures of hazardous materials
- Familiar with soldering and welding processes, IPC-610 Class 3, J-STD-001
- RF, Microwave or Timing experience
- Experience in the testing of High Reliability products
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement processes
- Experience with use of Oracle and Agile
Work Environment:
This job operates in an environment employing a variety of manufacturing and test techniques. This role routinely uses standard manufacturing and test equipment in addition to application specific systems.
Physical Demands / Mental Demands:
- Incumbent may sit in a stationary position for a long period of time.
- Frequent use of manufacturing and test equipment and exposure to computer screens.
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift 25-50 pounds.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, often performing multiple functions simultaneously.
