As a Global Chemical Program Manager, you will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of key initiatives and practices targeted at improving environmental compliance around chemical usage for Micron Technology, Inc., operations globally. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, education, and overall management of the company’s environmental management system and initiatives related to environmental programs. This role will provide technical regulatory guidance/advice to the sites, staff, and senior management on chemical policy and regulatory development matters related to the semiconductor industry.


Primary job responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensure Micron’s environmental programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to Micron’s environmental management system and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in achieving company’s sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing input to plan, implement, and monitor projects.

  • Manage Micron’s chemical programs and global chemical systems.

  • Manage site chemical coordinators.

  • Oversee chemical usage across the global sites, including monitoring of chemical approvals via Micron’s internal chemical management system.

  • Be effective at communicating (both written and verbal) environmental matters to Micron leadership and local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Meet requirements to conduct accurate environmental calculations and submit vital reports to regulatory agencies.

  • Collect, evaluate, and communicate chemical-related metrics and environmental performance measurements, especially regarding chemical usage and emissions.

  • Identify, develop, and provide chemical training to site chemical coordinators in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives.

  • Provide technical expertise for various chemical issues and regulations, including but not limited to TSCA, chemical import and export, and usage under RBA.

  • Develop and implement functional, cost-effective system improvements and enhancements for chemical management across the global sites.


Education Required:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, or other relevant technical degree related to the management of environmental issues and chemicals..


Experience Required:

  • Relevant experience including demonstrated experience with compliance, regulatory evaluation, and policy

  • Semiconductor experience preferred

  • The ability to read and develop a validated understanding and interpretation of regulations is required

  • Ability to develop global programs and deploy to a multi-cultural audience

  • Strong interpersonal communication

  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in technical writing

  • Strong team player skills

  • Technical expertise in the area of environmental compliance and sustainable operations, in multi-national corporations
