Summary/Objective

Receive emergent and non-emergent transportation requests, dispatch vehicles, and monitor the intake and transfer of patients to and from facilities.

Essential Functions

• Fully utilize computer assisted dispatch system to efficiently deploy vehicles to execute transports in an efficient and timely manner.
• Communicate with all team members and clients  professionally and courteously at all times.
• Provide assistance to team members utilizing  telephone and two-way radio communications.
• Schedule incoming requests for transports as needed.
• Anticipate and notify management immediately of any  transport issues.
• Communicate with sending and receiving medical treatment facilities regarding estimated time of arrival.
• Coordinate multi-discipline crews for transports; SCT, RN, paramedic as necessary.
• Under the direction of management, coordinate all crisis management responses, e.g. MVA, patient injury.
• Inform team members of shift changes.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using a variety of electronic equipment, such as computer, global positioning  system, radios, etc.
• Must be proficient in deploying crews efficiently with particular attention to geographic location and medical necessity. 
• Set up equipment for field team members for  expeditious start of shift.
• Ensure all equipment is properly allocated and signed for by field team member.
• Verify all equipment issued at the beginning of the  shift is returned in proper working condition.
• Secure equipment between shifts.
• Activate and deactivate all field team members in a timely manner.
• Additional duties or overtime as management may require in the daily operations of Mid Atlantic Care. 

Competencies

• Knowledge of geographical area or use of GPS device

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Must pass company provided PCP physical capacity  profile exam (post offer, pre- employment) & Drug Screen
