What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Specialist position at Mid-Cal Technical?

Description:
This position will function in the lead technical role for the Document Controls group.
- Accountability for setting up document control for a large portfolio of work utilizing SharePoint.
- Leads SharePoint stand up process including integration with APEX and various other platforms
- Leads document controls activities on all projects, including pulling and organizing drawings for engineering team
- Trains and directs document control team members as they join the team. This is currently an individual contributor role, set up to group with the portfolio
- Coordinates and conducts system training work process to other members
- Works with engineering to develop QA/QC tracking for large projects.
- Responsible for compliance of QA/QC procedures.
- Conducts system and process training for clients and vendors.
- Responsible for communicating processes and procedure updates effectively to clients, vendors, and internal personnel.
- Analyzes reports for vendor and client issues for trends or workflow errors.
- Compiles subcontract documents and issues appropriate revisions.
- Resolves issues with document management system.
- Responsible for implementing process improvements.
- Collaborates with Project Managers to complete the document compliance of the large project, aligned with project scope and within schedule.
- Responsible for updating segment of processes and procedures and communicating/evaluating effectiveness.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Fours years minimum of applicable document management experience required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
- Previous experience working in multiple databases required.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A high level of technology based data systems is required.
- This position requires exceptional attention to detail, quality, and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access.
