What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriter position at Mid Oregon Credit Union?
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides assistance to the Loan Manager in the servicing of Mid Oregon's consumer and real estate lending related activities and programs. Researches and follows up on FSR loan underwriting inquiries. Makes lending recommendations and/or decisions within approved lending authority. Audits loan files for accuracy and adherence to the Credit Union's lending policies and procedures. Assists with Loan Coordinator duties, on occasion, including title processing. Monitors loan reports, such as Paid Ahead Loans, Security Overrides, Certificate Secured Loans, exception reports, and other reports as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS: A qualified applicant will have a basic knowledge of loan processing and consumer lending rules, regulations, and laws; basic knowledge of consumer underwriting principles and credit reporting functions; good computer and keyboarding skills; familiarity with a variety of software programs including Word and Excel; a pleasant, friendly demeanor; outstanding ability to communicate; and the ability to understand and retain a variety of detailed information on consumer and real estate loans. This person will be reliable, good at problem solving and decision-making, enjoy multi-tasking, and be able to work independently much of the time. Attention to detail and strong organizational and prioritization skills are a must.
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS: Previous lending experience required.
SALARY RANGE: Salary depending on experience.

WORK LOCATION: 202 NE Olney, Bend
PROPOSED SCHEDULE: Full-time employees are scheduled to work 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Occasional overtime and/or weekend work may be necessary to handle busy periods.
