Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)

This position will work hand in hand with the HR, Safety, operations and executive management teams to create and implement training and development programs that will ensure compliance and maximize employee development opportunities.

Typical Duties

Research, plan, organize and facilitate company training programs, seminars and conferences to support team, individual, management, leadership and functional development activities; establish in-house training programs that address company needs across division lines.

Responsible for identifying training needs based on skills gap analyses, developing group and individual learning courses and managing the training budget. Provide guidance on the development of curricula addressing business needs across a variety of compliance, technical, professional and leadership development topics.

Develops and implements training activities directed at both employee competencies and technical skills. Deliver in classroom, e-learning and blended learning sessions.

Collaborates with other functions (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Corporate) to ensure that course materials reflect current specifications and to obtain information on new processes and equipment.

Manage and support training plans and programs (e.g., audiences, timeframes, curriculums, reporting). Oversee the design, develop and maintenance of e-learning courses.

Oversee the administration of the learning management system. Provides thought leadership on business needs that result in system requirements and design.

Maintain records of all training programs/participants with related personnel information; provide special reports when required.

Organize and execute the delivery of standardized training manuals, reference libraries, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids and other training materials.

Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including employee safety, selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives and planning, organizing, integrating, measuring and reporting the work performed within the department.

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field (Typically six years of related progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree).

Master’s degree is preferred.

Six years of related experience in learning and development, including three years supervisory/management responsibilities.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
