What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Technician position at MIDAS?
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and perform tests on building products in a laboratory and field environment
- The Senior Materials Technician forms the link between the site laboratory (Laboratory Manager) and the Resident Engineer
- Must be able to assess materials test results ito the project specifications and make recommendations to the Resident Engineer
- Fully conversant with the latest laboratory test methods (TMH 1)
- Fully conversant with field sampling methods (TMH 1)
- Direct the site laboratory (through the lab manager) with respect to the testing regime required
- Manage the acceptance control process for all aspects of the project related to earthworks, layerworks and concrete works and report to the Resident Engineer
- Supervise the collation of information for the compilation of the materials as-built data sheets and carry out monthly audits on the as-built data compilation process
Compilation of monthly materials and laboratory reports in conjunction with the laboratory manager as required by the client
- Report on the performance of the laboratory to the Resident Engineer

Experience:
- Materials Technician: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- High school diploma or GED required (Required)
