Our client is growing and seeking to hire a Plant Controller at their new facility in Newark, DE. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining the actual cost of manufacturing, setting production standards, scrutinizing facility expenses, and analyzing company profitability for the company’s Chestertown, MD and Newark, DE manufacturing locations. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and comes with an excellent salary, bonus plan, and outstanding employee benefits programs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margin analysis by product segment
- Assist in month-end closing; prepare journal entries
- Maintain internal control documents and test internal controls
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconciliation schedules for sales, cost of sales, inventory, and liability accounts
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies regarding cost and profitability
- Support internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others
- Ensure timely submission, accuracy/validity of inventory and gross margin schedules to management
- Develop cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead
- Streamline workflow and processes to optimize cost accounting systems
- Analyze production costs and recommend changes for continuous improvement
- Assist with annual physical inventory
