What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Tech Worker - Peach House, DD Program position at Middle Flint Community Service Board?
Shift Needs: 3pm-11pm; 11pm-7am; 7am-7pm; 7pm-7am
Aids client in their own homes and in the community to allow them to function more safely and independently. Facilitates physical, recreational, social and education activities. Provides clients with a positive role model. Identifies social, economic, recreational and educational services in the community that will meet client’s needs. Maintain liaison with other agencies, professionals, government officials and the community. Recognize potential crisis situations, analyzes such situations accurately, develops strategies to deal with such situations, and informs the key worker, supervisor and manager when such incidents arise. Recognize potential emergency situations accurately, and develops strategies to deal with such situations i.e., dispensing medication, dealing with client’s aggressive behavior no harm comes to the client, staff and / or the public. Assists case management team in identifying potential problems. Provides input to counselors and other professionals with regard to the development of the client program plans. Monitor client’s wellbeing. Assist clients with daily life skills and/ or behavior management training. Assist clients with basic cooking, etc. Assists clients in attending appointments when necessary and provides transportation. It is the responsibility of the worker to ensure that all requirements are met to provide safe transportation i.e., proper drivers licenses and daily auto vehicle safety health checks. Provides emotional support and feedback to clients (and their families and friends where concerned).
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED AND one year experience in a social service-related position OR completion of two years of college with at least 15 credit hours in a social service-related field. Proficiency in keyboard use. Valid, unrestricted GA Driver’s License.
Agency is an eligible work site for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Minimum Entry Salary *: $13.00 / hour
