POSITION:
Product Engineering Manager, Reporting to VP of Engineering
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Product Engineering Manager will be accountable for leading a product engineering team in planning, facilitating, and executing all aspects of both New Product Development and sustaining current Midé products.
This position is for someone who is self-motivated, goal oriented, and enjoys working in a dedicated cross-functional team environment. An appropriate candidate must be an ongoing learner, self-directed, flexible, organized, dependable, proactive, and persistent leader. He or she must effectively manage resources, lead and coach team members, solve problems in a structured manner, and make decisions with limited oversight/guidance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the successful transition of R&D to Products and for current product updates and revisions.

Responsible for Engineering Change process & documentation related to existing product.

Oversee revision control software.

Work with engineering and production teams to perform any DFM as required.

Work with VP of Engineering and ENG Directors to allocate resources to execute necessary drawing and documentation changes.

Work with Director of Production and Product Managers to ensure all production related drawings and documentation to satisfy necessary requirements to ensure proper manufacture.

Develop procedures and processes for efficient in process and legacy system engineering changes.

Research, develop, and implement upgrades to current products in collaboration with engineering team to ensure product offerings remain current and innovative.

Execute tasks and supervise individuals and teams responsible for tasks including industrial design, concept development, design & analysis engineering, CAD modelling and drafting, product testing, design transfer to production, and technical file management.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within R&D, Product Management, Project Management, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain. Influence strategic direction and prioritization, while managing delivery and execution.

Oversee a team of 1-3 product engineers.

Adherence to Midé policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BSE (ME, EE, mechatronics, electromechanical, or similar) required, MSE preferred.

5 years Product Engineering experience required.

2 years managerial experience strongly preferred.

High technical aptitude for design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems.

Design control & design change process experience (revision control).

Very good software skills with appropriate tools, including:

Solid modeling platform (SolidWorks preferred)

Part drawing platform

Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent written and oral technical communication skills.
