Midland Trust is looking for a top-notch Client Service Associate in our Fort Myers office. Candidates should have an interest in the financial services industry.  Midland's primary services include Self-Directed IRAs and 1031 Exchanges. The Associate’s role is a proactive, non-sales position focused on servicing and guiding new and existing clients through processes related to completing self-directed investments, including but not limited to private equity, hedge funds, cryptocurrency, futures, precious metals, and real estate. Typical client contact is via phone, chat, and email. You will be exchanging information and documents with clients and with other team members at our Chicago, Sioux Falls, and Fort Myers Midland offices.

This position is key to our company's goal of providing professional, personal service to our clients.



 Typical Job Duties:

  • Efficiently managing a high volume of client correspondence (incoming calls, emails, chats, and client visits)
  • Answering client questions regarding financial transactions, including asset purchases, sales, and other client transactions
  • Effectively learning and communicating IRS rules and regulations related to IRAs
  • Utilizing Salesforce, our state-of-the-art CRM system to keep all transaction and case statuses updated, also logging all communication
  • Building and maintaining relationships with account holders and referral sources
  • Coordinating with third parties such as investment managers, brokers, attorneys, and title companies to ensure timely processing of investments
  • Opportunity to attend industry trade shows, seminars, conferences, and networking events
  • Collaborating with the management team for special events or meetings  
  • Working across departments to assist  with administrative duties and special projects, as necessary


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a service-oriented role (Accounting/Finance/Administration experience is a plus)
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be pleasant, personable, and dependable
  • Requires a HIGH level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Must be an AWESOME problem solver
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must have good time management and the confidence to reprioritize tasks as needed
  • Proven ability to listen to people and interpret their needs
  • The desire to work as a member of a team
  • Must be great with all technology-STRONG computer, internet, Microsoft skills
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
