Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapist. Provides technical, therapeutic and educational services in regards to treatment, management and diagnostic evaluation of respiratory disorders. Inclusive of invasive and non-invasive ventilation support devices; routine therapeutic gas, mist and medication delivery devices; such as masks, cannulas, aerosols and nebulizers. Obtains arterial blood samples. Provides patient education and instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
1. High School education or equivalent required.
2. Must have completed 1 year in a Registered Respiratory Therapist program and provide documentation of such.
3. Experience in Respiratory Care preferred.
4. BCLS required.
5. Basic computer knowledge preferred.
6. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
7. Must have the ability to work independently and organize several projects.
8. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
9. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
10. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
11. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
12. Required lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
