What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) position at Midsouth PICCs, LLC?
PICC RN is responsible for planning and collaboration with Physicians and Support staff to ensure appropriate vascular access needs are met. Supports staff, patients, and family through education to enhance knowledge, skills, and necessary behaviors to facilitate positive outcomes with treatment.
Registered Nurse must demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation, planning, coordination, and provision of care for the patient while performing clinical insertion of a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, Midline, Extended Dwell catheter, or IV catheter as directed by a direct supervisor.
The PICC specialist is responsible and accountable for placement and monitoring of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, Midline, Extended Dwell catheter, or IV catheters with minimal supervision, under the order of a Medical Doctor and in accordance with all state rules and regulations as well as best practices as outlined by the Infusion Nursing Society.
Requires travel. A flexible schedule is a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Graduate of a recognized RN program current licensure in good standing in the state of MS or current compact license.
- 1 year of adult critical care nursing experience within the past five years or/PICC IV-Therapy experience
- Experienced with IV-Therapy/PICC Insertion highly preferred, BLS Healthcare Provider is required. PICC Training is available for the right candidates.
- Must have basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn proprietary software.
- Ability to learn advanced vascular access procedures for Adult patients.
- Ability to travel within Jackson MS
