POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Corporate MRO Purchasing Manager, is responsible for maintaining necessary governmental reporting on Conflict Minerals content. Position performs pricing analysis and works collaboratively with Plant MRO Buyers and Crib Attendants to identify and implement cost savings opportunities. Develop and perform analytical functions to improve efficiencies of MRO functions across plants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for Conflict Minerals reporting submissions for company. Ensures compliance to all related customer and governmental reporting requirements. Works with Corporate Purchasing to determine current list of active components and works with requisite suppliers to obtain compliance with sub-tier reporting requirements.
- Performs manufacturer and commodity pricing analysis. Performs review of spending across all facilities to identify opportunities for negotiated discounts.
- Reviews all purchase orders above specified threshold levels to identify opportunities to transfer inventory between facilities.
- Utilizes reviews of usage and identifies opportunities to reduce inventory levels in the plants.
- Performs periodic usage analysis to identify changes in usage rates. Works with plant buyers and maintenance personnel to identify reasons for usage rate increases.
- Performs build-out planning. Interfaces with Plant Buyers and Crib Attendants to identify crib stock items dedicated to specific programs to proactively adjust inventory levels to reduce obsolescence within the MRO area.
- Has authority to negotiate payment terms, price freight and LTA’s for MRO purchases.
- Receives quotations and secures bids.
- May be responsible for scheduling, follow up, and expediting of deliveries in special circumstances of MRO items.
- Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of purchasing records. Clear and concise documentation to the sourcing process and decisions made is to be included as backup information to the Purchase Order.
- Recommends departmental policies, procedures, and programs regarding the MRO function.
- Responsible for supplier performance and compliance to standards regarding the MRO function.
- May review, recommend, process and resolve disputed claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials or equipment as required.
- Abides by the Midway Products Group, Inc. Confidentiality Agreement while in communication or correspondence with suppliers or customers.
- Assist with the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO14001 compliance
- Performs other essential duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management or business related field preferred and minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing or Production Control, MRO or background in Maintenance preferred.
- Environmental or Compliance experience a plus.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Computer literate with experience in spreadsheet applications
- Experience with Inventory Control.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment.
- Normal shop environment, which includes travel to plant sites; use of personal protection equipment; hazards and conditions typically associated with a manufacturing environment.
- May be subject to plant conditions such as loud noise due to operating machinery, physical hazards due to operating and moving machinery, and breathing fumes and dust.
- Employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. May exert up to 20 pounds of force on occasion.
