Nurse Practitioner

Midwest ENT Centre, a state-of-the-art single-specialty ENT practice in St. Peters, Mo. is looking for a Family Nurse Practitioner to help its growing practice. Its five physician-owners provide the vast majority of otolaryngology care to the residents of ever-growing St. Charles and surrounding suburban counties.

The practice is built to create an efficient, impressive patient experience. Our single office location is an upscale 17,000 square foot building that boasts ample clinic, parking and waiting spaces, procedure rooms, an allergy testing and immunotherapy clinic, audiology suites and a cone-beam CT scanner.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Obtains and presents patient history and physical examination information clearly and concisely to the supervising physician.

Assists in educating the patient/family regarding medical condition, procedures, medication and preventative measures as necessary and appropriate.

Shares in the exercise of other clinical activities necessary in caring for the ENT patient, including but not limited to:

• Managing medication prescriptions/refills
• Ordering/collecting specimens for our limited, specialty-specific laboratory tests
• Coordinating patient referral to other physicians/clinics
• Answering patient messages, including communicating via phone/patient portal with patients/families to counsel, deliver testing results and explain treatment plans

Collaboratively assisting hiring physician with his/her on-call responsibilities

Within the practitioner’s trained competency and within established scope of practice guidelines, the practitioner will perform evaluation and management (E&M) services, ordering/interpretation of ancillary testing, and clinical procedures. Such services may be performed on a “walk-in” basis and with or without the hiring physician’s immediate presence.

Acts as a liaison to hospital and ER staff to help coordinate care for our hospital/OR patients.

Completes all medical record documentation as required.

Performs related work as required or assigned.

Helps maintain the good relationships we have built with patients and referral sources.

Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.

PREREQUISITE CERTIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES:

No previous ENT experience is necessary. Necessary certifications include:

• Current RN license in the State of Missouri
• Current and unencumbered FNP board certification in the State of Missouri with NP licensure via the AANP or ANCC
