POSITION FUNCTION: The Quality Control Sr Technician assists the QC Chemist/Supervisor in daily quality activities including data reporting/compiling, finished good inspections, laboratory testing and daily activities as given by the Quality Management. POSITION OVERVIEW Reports To: Quality Manager Shift(s) Responsible For: 1 st Shift Hours: 8 hours. Some overtime may be required Weekend Work: As needed On Call: As needed Travel Requirement: Minimal Responsibilities: • Ability to perform all primary and secondary responsibilities of QC Lab Inspector. • Ability to coach QC Inspectors, warehouse workforce in GMP guidelines. • Act as the primary back-up to the QC Chemist • Perform and document QC testing of finished goods and packaging materials. • Routine, scheduled calibration of laboratory instruments & equipment. • Laboratory testing of customer complaints and returned goods samples. • Assist in maintaining QC laboratory in audit-ready state and cGMP compliant. • Inspection and performing on-line QC checks of all finished good filling compliance (Net weight compliance, torques, etc.) • Document/report test results as required. Report any non-conforming results to QA Manager and Operations. • Give directions and product dispositions to Operations Team(s) when non-conforming goods are identified. Assist product HOLD labeling of goods. • Routine inspections of Finished Goods (FGs) and components to ensure product conformance to standards: o Appearance, Color, Odor, Lot Codes, Defect Levels, incoming/new labels approval, etc. • Daily management of Finished Goods product retain program. • Member of Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) Team o Perform non-conformance investigations. o Re-inspections, retesting, identifying FG warehouse locations and quantities (internal and external) o Perform lot code searches and product recovery o Report all findings to Quality and Operations Management • Assist in maintaining the Quality Hold Program • Assist in maintaining the Document Control Program • Assist in conducting Quality Audits (Internal/External) and reports results to QA Manager • Communicates quality concerns to Operations Team and assists in determining root cause analysis • Complies, interprets data, and reports results to QC Manager • Assist in regulatory activities (domestic and international) to assist the Innovation team, as needed • Performs additional quality-related duties as deemed necessary by the Quality Management
Qualifications
Organizational Relationships: • Works with Customer Service and Operations teams to resolve and assist in customer/consumer complaints and internal concerns. • Communicates quality concerns and improvements with the Operations Team. Oversees product reworking activities. • Supports the Innovation Team with new product development testing. Qualifications: • Associate degree in chemistry or physical sciences (BA or BS preferred) • Experience in QC Laboratory Release Testing and Finished Goods inspections • Good Mathematical Abilities • Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) • Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) • Effective Communication Skills: written, verbal, behavioral • current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Knowledge • Good Decision Making and Trouble shooting skills • Attention to detail champion • Critical Thinking Skills • Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred) • Knowledge with Microsoft Office, particularly Word & Excel • Document Control Experience (Preferred) • Certified Forklift Operator (Preferred) • Google Workbook (Preferred) Physical Demands Requires sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and standing to a varying degree. Can require the pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Safety Awareness • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), as needed, while performing laboratory activities. • Slip resistance shoes to be worn. • Forklift safety awareness training for pedestrians.
