Milestone Pediatrics is seeking an independent and extremely detail-oriented Medical Admin Assistant to join our team! Our award-winning, multi-location practice delivers high-quality treatment to children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Arizona. The current open position is for Monday-Friday Medical Admin Assistant to work in person out of our Mesa location.
Milestone Pediatrics currently works with a billing company and is looking for a billing specialist to assist with the overflow of duties below and tackle billing issues as they arise.

Candidates need to have well-rounded knowledge in the following areas:
- Insurance Verification
- Insurance Authorization
- Verification of benefits
- Accounts Receivable Follow-Up
- Patient Collections
- Quickbooks (for cash pay patients)
- Empowerment scholarship payments
- Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)
- EMR- Clinic source for therapy services
Duties:
- Work with front desk staff and billing company to verify proper insurance coverage
- Make calls to patients to facilitate collectability and resolve insurance issues
- Receive patient calls regarding billing questions and resolve disputes
- Submit past-due unresponsive patient balances to a collection agency
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
- Pre-auths
- Authorizations upkeep
- Scan paper EOB results to the billing company
- Work with outside billing agencies to resolve billing issues
- Record patient payments into EMR and Quickbooks
- Post patient and insurance payments to the accounting system
- Other duties assigned as needed
Job Requirements:
- High School/Associates requirement or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2-4 years prior medical receivable collections experience preferred
- Understanding of medical claims processing
- Experience with insurance systems, Clinic Source (EMR)
- Knowledge of insurance including State and Federal rules and regulations as they relate to billing and collections
- Ability to understand claim denials/rejections
- Ability to read an Explanation of Benefits
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Quickbooks
- Knowledge of therapy, home health, and billing
