Job Summary The Radiation Engineer will derive radiation environments and apply those environments to electronic parts selection and development of appropriate test plans and procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Derive radiation environments for specific mission profiles using CREME96, OMERE, SPENVIS or similar tools
Evaluate customer radiation requirements for TID, Total Ionizing Dose and SEE, Single Event Effects
Assist with evaluation of electronic parts for new and existing designs
Develop test plans
Coordinate test hardware procurement
Test harness design
Assist with construction of test set ups
Travel to test sites, as needed (10%)
Analyze test data for radiation effect
Support Program, Product, and Systems engineering with results and analysis
Contribute to configuration management of internal documents and drive processes through documented work flows
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Physics or Electrical Engineering with 1-6 years experience working with radiation effects or Master or PhD within relevant research field
Previous experience and application of radiation environments for TID, Displacement Damage, SEE
Previous experience with radiation effects on microelectronics
Ability to read, analyze and write schematics
Ability to solder electronic equipment
Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and use of CREME96, OMERE, or SPENVIS
Electrical circuit design and layout
Application knowledge of IC's, Integrated Circuits, power supplies and FET's, Field Effect Transistors
Electrical circuit simulation with LTSPICE or SPICE
Experience with Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis
Experience with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino for remote operations
