POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Scrum team, the Junior Scrum Master will help to drive Agile/Scrum frameworks that result in quality product delivery and realization of defined product roadmaps. This role is an initial point of contact for the Scrum Team, responsible for planning and facilitating all Agile ceremonies, and supporting the team in delivering incremental value each sprint while continuing to drive towards the product vision.
The incumbent must be able to identify and remove impediments and external distractions, ensure the team has the necessary tools and resources to rapidly respond to change, and create an environment of collaboration to help the team achieve long-term success.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for managing and guiding the work of all Scrum related ceremonies from Backlog Grooming and Sprint Planning through Delivery and Retrospectives
- Help define a consistent playbook of Scrum ceremonies and ensure compliance within and across Scrum Teams
- Assist Product Owners in ongoing Backlog Grooming techniques and best practices
- Track, monitor, and report on velocity, realized value versus budget, and overall status for technology portfolios and assume overall delivery responsibility for a defined portfolio of projects
- Ensure Scrum Team actions are aligned with defined Strategic Initiatives, vision, and goals of the firm
- Foster an environment of Scrum Team self-organization and accountability
- Proactively identify issues, risks, and other impediments and help mitigate and manage to closure
- Assist in the development and continuous refinement of the firm’s agile maturity, and advocate and observe best practices to help improve and maintain firm’s product development agility
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-3 years of applicable experience
- Working knowledge, preferably some experience, of scaling framework in agile world
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (formerly TFS) and Jira with emphasis on Agile ceremonies
- Understanding of SDLC is highly desired
- Ability to operate effectively and easily transition between strategic and tactical initiatives
- Self-motivated, team leader, able to manage complex cross-functional projects with minimal direction
- With exceptional passion of continuous self-improvement and sharing knowledge with others
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Experience in preparing, presenting, and maintaining required documentation and artifacts
- Experience in developing training materials and in training end-users on new procedures and application
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
- Knowledge or familiarly with release management, preferably CI/CD
