POSITION TITLE
Summer Finance Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is part of Milliken's Finance Team that includes Corporate Finance and Divisional Finance. All positions are located in Spartanburg, SC at Milliken's Corporate Headquarters. These positions report to a Divisional CFO or Corporate VP and will collaborate with Division Controllers, Business Controllers and/or Corporate Finance team members.
TheFinance Internshipprogram will provide interns with a valuable experience across our Finance organization with placement within one of our various Accounting or Finance teams. Through our program, interns willbroaden their perspective on career development, gain problem-solving insights, and improve their ability to navigate in a corporate environment. Interns will complete projects throughout the summer and report-out on their accomplishments through a final internship presentation to business leaders, supervisors and colleagues at the end of the summer.
As anIntern, you will have the opportunity to perform various finance/accounting duties, including, but not limited to any/all of the following:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform month accounting processes and participate in income statement and balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy.
- Actively participate in process and efficiency analysis and give insightful recommendations to the team for improving business performance and operational efficiencies.
- Develop and implement advanced analytics capabilities to drive visibility into financial performance and improve decision making.
- Network with finance employees and other interns from across our businesses and functions.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- Students working toward a BS Degree in Accounting, Analytics or Finance
- Strong user of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
- ERP experience
- Experience using data query and analysis tools such as SAP Business Objects or Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Willingness to take ownership and responsibility as a highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to work and gain results in a team environment
