Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Job Summary:
Operate, maintain, and provide user support for the USMC Distance Learning Resource Centers (LRC) located on USMC bases throughout the United States and overseas. The desired candidate must have basic computer skills required to operate systems within the LRC and assist students with basic technical problems with computers and peripherals.
This position requires U.S. citizenship, a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, one year of general experience in computer system operations and troubleshooting and working knowledge of commercial software products.
Must submit to background check and pass a Personnel Security Investigation through a National Agency Check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduling of LRC
- Track number of patrons visiting the LRC
- Brief capacity and operations of the LRC
- Sign in students and check student credentials and assign workstations
- Provide technical assistance on computer applications
- Proctor on-line examinations
- Maintain the LRC equipment inventory
- Call in or log facility and computer system work orders by phone, online, or through e-mail
- Provide daily and monthly reports of operation and maintenance activities
- Maintain LRC in a clean and orderly condition
- Suggest new Learning Resource Center sites and buildings to the installation command to include suitability and required resources
- Periodic CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required
Preferred Skills:
- Previous Marine Corp experience Staff NCO or Jr Officer with experience in MCDLP
- Associates Degree in Business or Information Technology or other major course of study preferred
