POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager will work with the Director of Marketing to execute day-to-day marketing/sales plans as well as serve as the primary lead around Milwaukee Rep’s social media presence. Responsibilities also include support around publications and marketing initiatives that will stimulate ticket sales and help with awareness and engagement.
Marketing/Sales
Research and create production-specific partnerships to increase target market awareness and sales.
Working with Director of Marketing and Associate Director of Marketing identify season specific promotional initiatives with community partners/organizations and take the lead on developing all aspect of promotion.
Coordinate the integration of Digital Display Advertising and paid social posts with outside vendor (i.e. Capacity Interactive) with our Social Media Calendar.
Serve as primary staff person for distribution of marketing materials in venues and Center as well as working with vendor for external distribution. Collaborate with Associate Director of Marketing to develop strategies for Greater Milwaukee and Suburb distribution including the creation of Street Teams.
Manage inventory of marketing materials and marketing swag.
Publications and Archives
Manages the out-sourced production of all performance programs, serving as the program editor and project manager including research, requesting bios and headshots as well as proofing/writing of bios and other content for the programs.
Maintain archives and company photo database and distribution of materials to other theaters, producers, journalists, scholars and students.
Coordinate distribution of all photographs and video to media as well as production teams and communicate usage guidelines.
Social Media
Create and manage all aspects of social media to support marketing efforts and theater initiatives; coordinate across departments to secure and create assets for posting content that is engaging and accurately represents Milwaukee Rep’s brand and productions. This includes minor design work, photography and video elements.
Create and maintain a weekly and monthly social media calendar to make sure posts are scheduled in a timely fashion.
Monitor all social media platforms during the workday, interacting with patrons conversationally and responding to comments and messages that require action in a timely manner; monitor social media on evenings and weekends; coordinate with supervisor for coverage support as needed.
Understand, follow and stay current on social media best practices and trends; make recommendations for changes in practices.
Manage Milwaukee Rep’s Social Media Club (SMC)
Cultivate and manage the members and the activities of the Social Media Club (SMC).
Create and implement a plan for retention of current members and attracting new members.
Create a season long program to provide behind-the-scenes access and more personalized opportunities for the club to post about on social.
Provide support to Social Media Club including, but not limited to: coordinating attendance at productions and special events including taking RSVPs and staffing the check in tables at opening nights and/or working special events for the SMC.
Stay in regular contact with the SMC providing them updates and content to share on their platforms and overall keeping them engaged throughout the season.
Put systems in place to evaluate the value/effectiveness of the group.
Administration
As needed represent Milwaukee Rep at on- and off-site events, conferences and festivals (may include evenings and weekends).
Contribute to Marketing Department’s event planning, coordination and execution.
Supervise Social Media Intern.
Support and collaborate with other marketing team members on a project-by-project basis.
Attend staff meetings, marketing meetings and other meetings as required.
Attend Opening Nights.
Other duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated understanding of social media platforms and experience working with a wide variety of people in social settings as well as working in a non-profit environment along with one (1) to three (3) years of non-profit arts experience, a plus if it’s in the performing arts, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Sales or filed related to the performance arts desired.
Excellent writing and editing skills, and an ability to conceive and shape compelling content
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Google Suite platforms
In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube marketing
Proficiency with social media management tools such as Hootsuite
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) a plus
Demonstrated experience in basic understanding of HTML code a plus

A willingness to commit to the mission, vision, and values of the theater
A valid U.S Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle is necessary
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends, on occasion
Physical requirements include: Carrying, loading/unloading display materials and swag to events on and off site and communicating in person and on the telephone. This position semi-frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or federal laws
