The RCM Supervisor (Remote in TX, NC, SC, or FL) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day RCM operations activities for their function. This position will assist in hiring, training, and reviewing performance of staff. The incumbent will review, evaluate, and resolve RCM process issues and revenue collections. The incumbent will ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency and remain in alignment with overall company goals and initiatives. The Supervisor will ensure all employees follow strict patient privacy procedures and maintain a friendly and professional working atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of the RCM team which includes mentoring employees, conducting performance evaluations, providing guidance on career goals and issuing disciplinary action, including and up to termination
- Responsible for hiring to staff ratios as established by the Operations Department
- Manages employee timecards, reviews time off requests, coordinates schedules including shift coverage in assigned offices, and ensuring the attendance policy is being adhered to
- Maintains office harmony and morale in a professional work environment
- Guides department processes by researching, developing, writing, and updating RCM policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines
- Obtains revenue by resolving order and invoice disputes and maintaining customer relations
- Serves as resource to team in resolving and documenting complex patient situations including escalated complaints in a timely manner
- Identifies need for additional training through observation, account reviews
- Create, track and maintain department metrics. Prepares regular reports and performs audits on various operational metrics to ensure department objectives are being met
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results and engaging in the work of direct reports
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in business management or related secondary training desired but can be substituted with years of relevant, practical experience
- 2 years of lead/supervisor experience
- 3 years of billing experience required; physician and/or mental health billing preferred
- Experience with electronic health records; preferably NextGen
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other computer technology/software • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Extensive customer service skills (within a healthcare setting preferred), including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information
