Looking for an experienced individual to take the reins as our Head Gymnastics Coach for our USA Gymnastics competitive Team Program.
Role Responsibilities for this position would include but are not limited to:
Work with Program Director and President/Board to:
- Develop marketing materials, including direct mail, newspaper, radio, handouts, postcards, flyers and social media.
- Develop registration materials for all program offerings, including scholarship materials and online and paper offerings.
- Support fundraising opportunities including but not limited to Annual Party, Giving
- Hearts Day, and others.
- Develop program offerings and a coordinated schedule with other lead coaches and high school coaches for Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter programming.
- Work with Office Manager to complete receptionist duties, supply purchases, and running errands as appropriate.
- Maintain and care for equipment and gym area.
- Hire coaches and secure staffing and substitutes for all team programming using appropriate coaches and numbers for all levels. Coach all teams. Be on the floor during all team activities.
- Create lesson plans for team programming and save electronically weekly.
- Understand USAG rules, regulations and routines and be able to train staff on them.
- Train all team coaches on coaching techniques and safety.
- Register Participants and review all team programming registrations for accuracy and completion.
- Attend regular staff meetings and provide training or obtain training for all team coaches on coaching techniques and safety.
- Organize and conduct, a minimum of, bi-annual meetings with high school coaches, before and after seasons.
- Review & Update (as needed) the Team Handbook annually
- Conduct annual parent meeting in the fall, to explain the team program, hand out the handbook
- Communicate with parents and children progress reports, program offerings and closures and develop incentive materials for children and families.
- Conduct at least bi-annual parent conferences to update athlete progress
- Plan and conduct at least annual team tryouts that are posted at the gym for all athletes to see and know about
- Present an annual team budget (projected expenses/tuition) to the Program Director, then Board for approval
- Present practice and meet schedules to the board for approval (Fall thru season and Summer)
- Communicate with the Board(at least quarterly), team progress, numbers, levels, meets
- Communicate with the Board Budgetary needs or requests
- Report any safety issues, broken equipment to Program Director immediately, resolve issues whenever possible.
- Report injuries to Program Director, ongoing monitoring of injuries.
- Overseeing and attending competitions with gymnasts.
- Traveling for meets when necessary.
- Communicating with management personnel.
Required Qualifications for this position:
- 2 years experience in a gymnastics coaching position or equivalent time in another coaching position with a background in gymnastics.
- Reasonably local residency or ability to relocate.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- USA Gymnastics Certification
- Understanding of child development, skill development
Compensation:
Salary: $42,000-$55,000 Annually DOE
