Purchasing Agent

Reports to:                                                       Senior Manager of Procurement

Cooperates with:                                             Production, Accounting, Shipping, Engineering, Sales

Primary Responsibility:                                    As our Purchasing Agent, you'll be the backbone of our supply chain, making sure everything runs smoothly from purchase orders to inventory management. If you've got a knack for procurement and know your way around ERP systems, this could be the gig for you. Get ready to play a key role in our production efficiency and customer satisfaction!

What You’ll Do:

• Manage procurement processes including purchasing and Syspro Inventory Management.
• Process Knoxville Precious Metal purchase orders.
• Handle Daily Churn Fabrication and Catalyst orders (sales orders).
• Conduct project purchasing and stock purchasing activities.
• Utilize MRP system for monitoring daily demands and maintaining accurate records.
• Coordinate routine cycle counts in collaboration with the production team.
• Procure non-stock supplies and miscellaneous items as directed.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure timely availability of materials for internal assembly schedules and customer demands.
• Review and approve supplier invoicing.
• Maintain detailed purchasing records in the Daily Production Schedule.
• Perform Syspro inventory tasks such as new item set-up, maintenance, and clean-up.

What Qualifies You:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in purchasing and procurement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional time management and organizational abilities, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in math and analytical skills.
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What We Prefer:

• Working knowledge of Syspro ERP software desired; background in an MRP system preferred.
• Prefer experience within a manufacturing environment.
