Position Summary
The Extended Day Program Aide is a part-time position (2pm-6pm, M-F) and reports directly to the
Director of Extended Program and works closely with the Extended Day Programs Coordinator to provide
active student supervision for outdoor and indoor activities (including homework) for students staying for
the extended day at Mirman School.
Salary range for this position is $19 - $25 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students in outdoor and indoor activities, ensuring safety at all times
- Assist children with homework, provide support across academic subjects, and ensure that
- Support students who may experience behavior issues being a role model and redirecting and
- Support the Extended Programs Coordinator with student transition, attendance, and overall
- Partner with colleagues in providing support, supervision, and classroom management to ensure
- Perform other duties and tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor and other Mirman staff
Qualifications
- Must have previous experience and basic knowledge and understanding of emotional
- Demonstrated empathy and compassion for children
- Highly organized with experience in student supervision
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail —demonstrated success at multitasking and
coordinating projects
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to answer questions from Mirman community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to take direction and receive feedback
- Be a self‐starter and possess the ability to think critically and be proactive
- High school diploma required; BA or some college credits completed in education, youth
development, or a related field preferred
