Children will be exposed to outdoor learning and will be immersed in a Spanish program.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and implement the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children.

• Strong communication (written and verbal in English and Spanish)

• Ability to attend off-site training, meetings, and workshops, including evenings and weekends.

• Consider & provide for the needs of individual children in relationship to cultural & socioeconomic background, emotional or physical ability, individual style, and pace of learning.

• Work with, and refer to the program director, children with unmet special needs, as well as families with problems that affect the child in the center.

• Hold regular parent-teacher conferences (2 a year minimum) and seek to involve parents in the child development program by participating in parent meetings and demonstrating an interest in the child which extends beyond the classroom.

• Maintain records on the emotional, social & intellectual development of assigned children.

• Ensure cleanliness of the classroom including counter tops, sinks and tables

• Support social and emotional development and positive guidance in the classroom

• Observe & document the individual progress of each child through authentic assessment practices to inform classroom instruction and curriculum

• Participate in Family Engagement Activities run by the center

• Develop a yearly Professional Development Plan with director, which will include 30 hours of training

• Supervise the assistant teacher to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene & safety 

• Ensure all program policies and state regulations are met

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
