Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has been providing compassionate care to older adults since 1943. A Dietary Aid, you will assist in the preparation, presentation, and distribution of our freshly prepared meals from our professional kitchen. Misericordia’s Dietary department prides itself in bringing in the best candidates into our close-knit team. We actively train, support and develop our team members according to their interest and long-term goals. We aspire to promote from within for those qualified and passionate team members.
As a Dietary Aid your duties would include:
- Assist our Cooks in the preparation of food, as needed
- Coordinate with team members for meal service periods
- Follow our residents’ individualized meal plans by ensuring all items are present for meal service
- Follow standardized recipes and specialized recipes to adhere to all specialized diets
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safety according to training and experience (We observe all state & federal age requirements for the operation of power-driven equipment).
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances
Requirements:
- Prior cooking experience helpful, but not essential
- Prior experience in healthcare, food service or related field preferred, but not required
- A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment
- Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
A great part time position for college or high school students or for the newly retired! 3 – 4 hours a day, this is an afternoon/early evening position - your shift would end by 7 or 7:30 pm. Part time coworkers earn Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay.
