POSITION SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, oversees the Plant’s in house medical/first aid program. Provides support to Safety, Workers Compensation and Wellness Programs.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Treats and provides professional nursing care to employees or people who become ill or injured on plant premises.
- Examines employees and evaluates their condition for capability of performing duties when ill or injured on the job and refers employees to industrial physician, urgent care or hospital, or takes other appropriate action.
- Monitors injured employee's condition and/or vital signs to determine if ambulatory care is required.
- Communicates work status with Dept. Managers and Supervisors regarding work status of injured EE’s (via email and in conjunction with the HR department)
- Creates and Maintains Workers Compensation Files of treatment and care of employees in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner up with Industrial Clinics
- Administer the Workers Compensation Case Management
- Participates in Safety Inspection, accident investigation and root cause analysis
- Coordinates annual Biometrics clinic, Annual Flu Shot clinic, Monthly Wellness topic and/or health fair based on corporates agenda
- Tele nurse – Nurse Triage Program
- Handles all worker’s compensation subpoenas
- Follow-ups with claims adjusters
- Responsible for workers compensation reporting claims/process and procedures
- Workers Compensation training on Demitri
- Participates in plant Walkthroughs/Safety Audits for inspections
- Maintains and updates OSHA 300 Logs
- Active participant in Safety Committee
- Participates in Claims Reviews
- Conducts CPR/First Aid Responders Training
- Warm ups program (in coordination with Safety Coordinator evaluate and suggest best practices
- Coordinates return to work program, ensuring doctor’s release to work documentation.
- Maintains confidentiality as appropriate. Is involved with Plant Management regarding Safety Investigations, Accident Reporting, Health and Safety Hazards, Safety Inspections, RTW Program, Safety Training, Corridor of Care Program, and any other Safety or Ergonomics program that the Company supports.
- Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. ·
- Requires Associates or Bachelors Degree, preferably in Nursing or related area.
- Requires Registered Nurse (RN) in the applicable U.S. State. ·
- Requires 3 years of experience as a Nurse, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Requires to be bilingual. English/Spanish
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- Work requires knowledge of medical terms and conditions.
- Work requires ability to create documentation and logs.
