What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Team Lead position at Missouri Ozarks Community Health?
Missouri Ozarks Community Health is currently accepting applications for a Clinical Team Leader for our Mansfield clinic.
This position will be the main point of contact coordinating the day-to-day clinic operations, to ensure the highest degree of satisfaction and exceptional delivery of patient care. This person will collaborate with other Clinical Team Leaders and managers to ensure efficient communication within all clinics.
General duties of the Clinical Team Leader will include working alongside clinical staff in direct patient care, manage staff schedules, take part in the recruitment process, evaluation, and disciplinary action of staff as well as planning, developing, and organizing various staff trainings, meeting, and services activities. This position will also guide staff in the quality improvement processes and oversee proper inventory management.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Precept new hires.
- Promote and uphold company/personnel policies and procedures and have knowledge of clinical policies and procedures.
- Establish and keep professional working relationships with other members of the health care team.
- Work directly with patient services supervisors and administrative staff to ensure front and back-office staff are communicating effectively with clinical support staff, providers and patient flow is efficient.
- Find and correct barriers to patient flow.
- Aid medical clinic staff with difficult patients and communicate significant clinical information to other health care professional, as necessary.
- Investigate patient complaints promptly and ensure that patients express a high degree of satisfaction with the clinic and staff.
- Find, study, and recommend solutions for nursing service problems promptly.
- Maintain excellent personal relations and communication with all providers, clinical staff, and support staff, show humility when collaborating with the medical clinic team.
- Schedule personnel for the medical clinic. Assess staffing patterns and recommend changes.
- Attend required meetings and take part in committees as asked.
- Ensure that Quality Assurance controls on all tests and procedures are completed, per CLIA and OSHA regulations.
- Guide staff in the Continuing Quality Improvement process. Develop, implement, and update the Quality Management Plan in coordination with the Medical, Dental, Mental Health and Administrative staff.
- Coordinate Quality Management (QM) audits, evaluations, and effect compliance through staff involvement in all QM areas.
- Ensure a safe environment for all clinic staff and patients.
- Assume responsibility for personnel management of medical clinical staff by taking part in hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action. Also help in developing and keeping current job descriptions.
- Help in organizing and arranging staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education programs for medical clinic staff.
- Participate in the development and long-range plans of the medical clinic as directed.
- Help providers in the treatment of patients and specialized procedures.
- Provide patient education, applicable preventative services by protocol and documentation.
- Document all patient contacts, triage patient phone calls for minor health problems and refer complicated illnesses to providers and make follow-up calls as required by provider staff. Communicate in a tactful, pleasant, and prompt and professional manner test results to patients as needed.
- Perform in-house, CLIA-waived laboratory tests per protocols. Log all lab testing, review laboratory results when returned from outside labs, check them off as received, and refer all abnormal results to the correct provider.
- Evaluate the operation of medical equipment and coordinates needed technical support, repair, needed maintenance and replacement, if appropriate. Ensures that maintenance logs on equipment are maintained per protocol, including checking oxygen supply and laboratory equipment.
- Manage proper inventory control to include, coordinating reorders and restocking of associated supplies, materials, and equipment. Ensures staff is non-wasteful of materials and supplies.
- Maintain patient and employee confidentiality per HIPPA and company policy.
- Help with other duties as assigned by the Medical Director, CEO and COO.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ADN required, BSN preferred.
- Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Missouri, required.
- Minimum 3 years of clinic experience, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, preferred.
- Current BLS, preferred.
- Ability to hear, speak, see, walk, kneel, bend, and lift 25 pounds.
- Pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment can begin.
