What are the responsibilities and job description for the Email Marketing Coordinator position at Missouri Star Quilt?
Email Marketing Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Senior Email Marketing Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full-time
JOB SUMMARY:
Quilting company. We get it. Probably not on your radar as a destination place to start or continue building your marketing career, or more specifically, your social media career. But wait. Let us sell you a bit.
Our brand was built through social media. Just 13 short years ago what started with a single tutorial video has become the largest quilting channel on YouTube garnering over 235 million views and 785,000 subscribers to date.
If that’s not enough to pique your interest, we’re closing in on 720,000 Facebook fans and, with our other platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest, we have an extremely engaged, loyal, and still-growing fan base of over 1.55 million. We even launched our TikTok channel this year!
Still need more? Or maybe you’re close to Googling us? Let us help you. We’ve been honored at the White House as the small business of the year, showcased on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and have had feature stories written about us from the likes of Forbes, NPR, Google, The Today Show, MSNBC’s Main Street USA, and the NBC Nightly News (so we’re kind of legit). The face of our company, Jenny Doan, has been called the “Oprah of Quilting”.
Are we bragging? Na, that’s not in our company’s DNA. But we’re proud of what we’ve built and excited about our future. Quilting is an almost $4 billion industry in the U.S., but we also have a growing customer base in Canada as well as overseas. With a burgeoning online business, as well as a town that boasts 12 individually-themed fabric stores, we’re just hitting our stride.
Wondering about the level of experience in our Marketing Department to help guide your career? Well, between the Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Marketing, and Senior Marketing Managers, we have over 65 years of combined experience on both the agency and client sides developing multi-channel marketing programs for national retail, QSR, telecom, and experiential brands. So yeah, quilting kind of took us by surprise, too (but we’re so glad it did).
The Email Marketing Coordinator position will report directly to the Senior Email Marketing Manager. You’ll work with our merchandising, social, creative, and product teams to develop and implement compelling email marketing programs. We’re looking for someone with an insatiable curiosity who is eager to learn and take on new challenges. We will want you to always ask “why?” but also be proactive enough to come with solutions to said challenges that will arise.
Our current customer email list is over 680,000 and growing, and our open- and click-through rates are so far above industry benchmarks they’ll make you do a double-take. We send out a Daily Deal email every morning that has become as necessary with our customers as their first cup of coffee. So cliche as it may sound, the only thing holding us back is our imagination.
