The Student Well-Being Non-Clinical Case Manager at Missouri University of Science and Technology plays a pivotal role in supporting the well-being and academic success of students by providing case management services for students facing personal, academic, or social challenges. This role focuses on connecting students with campus resources, coordinating support services, and helping them navigate complex situations that may impact their university experience. The Non-Clinical Case Manager works collaboratively with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and case management services to students facing various issues, including academic difficulties, financial concerns, housing insecurity, basic needs, and personal challenges.
- Assess student needs and develop action plans in collaboration with the student to address barriers to their success.
- Monitor student progress and follow up regularly to ensure they are accessing and benefiting from available resources.
- Serve as a liaison between students and various campus resources, including academic advising, financial aid, housing, and counseling services.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of campus and community resources and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide immediate support to students in distress and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
- Collaborate with the university police and other support services in crisis situations, ensuring students receive appropriate care and follow-up.
- Promote awareness of case management services throughout campus.
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and other university departments to advocate for student needs and ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in the Behavioral Intervention Team and the Student Care Team (UCARE) to support student well-being.
- Maintain detailed records of student interactions, case management activities, and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on case management trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Respond to after hours or weekend emergencies on a limited basis
- Other duties as assigned
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- Master's degree in social work or psychology.
- Two years of post-degree experience with case management, social work, or related field.
- Clinical and behavioral intervention experience.
- Higher education experience.
- Awareness of issues affecting today's students and high-risk populations in higher education.
- Experience (typically 2 years) managing situations and engaging with individuals who are experiencing distress with complex factors, traits, or tendencies.
- Experience making risk and behavioral assessments using evidence-based methodologies.
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.42 to $22.25 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
