What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at MIT?
DENTAL ASSISTANT, MIT Medical, to provide chairside assistance to dentists and other dental specialists for the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during and between office visits and perform other tasks consistent with a dental assistant’s training and skills. Will be the primary liaison between clinical staff and the patient; play an active role in preparing for the daily operations of patient visits as well as implementing key activities; lead twice-daily huddle sessions to ensure all pertinent patient information is communicated between all dental staff and have all appropriate materials available so that care is delivered effectively and efficiently; and manage email requests and ensure that patients comprehend dental treatment information provided by each provider by using the best medium to follow up with each patient to ensure treatment plan compliance.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: current Massachusetts’ dental assistant certification with current radiology certification; at least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a dental assistant in a recognized dental office or successful completion of a training program for dental assistants at a recognized dental school; four-handed dentistry experience; working knowledge of operative dentistry and of other general dental procedures; and excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills.
