What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable position at Mitchell Companies?

Position: Accounts Payable

Reports to: Director of Administration

Location: Leland, MS

Basic Purpose: Responsible for all payments for goods and services necessary for the operation of the company.

Specific Duties:

  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Investigates and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Communicates with co-workers, suppliers, and others in courteous and professional manner.
  • Processes all payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assists others in company accounting/financial department as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Experience in accounts payable, preferably in a multiple entity environment
  • Excellent computer skills; experience with Sage 100 a plus
  • High School diploma; some college preferred
