What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech Level III - 3rd shift position at Mitchell Plastics?
We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Tech Level III based out of Charlestown, Indiana. This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Tech is responsible to perform machinery repair and troubleshoot problems as well as train Level I and Level II Techs. The successful candidate must have one of the following: Electrical, HVAC, or Maintenance degree or its equivalent in demonstrable experience. The successful candidate must also have above average understanding and experience in electronics, minimum of 6 years industrial or machine maintenance experience, ability to read and understand electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings, capability of completing projects with limited supervision, and the ability to use computers.
The Maintenance Tech will be required to perform extensive and in-depth preventive maintenance checks and service as scheduled. Installation, repair, and removal of electrical circuits, air compressors, water pumps and motors by using meters and other testing equipment. Providing support for new projects and develops PM plan to maintain new equipment according to manufacture recommendations. Help maintain inventory of all needed maintenance supplies and keep track of spare stock of maintenance items. Provide guidance, training, and leadership to Skill Level I and II Maintenance Techs in the areas of maintenance safety procedures, preventive maintenance, machine and equipment troubleshooting, and provide specific instruction and leadership in task completion. Independently troubleshoot, solve and repair machine and equipment problems. Proficient in maintaining, troubleshooting and making changes needed on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Install main electrical service and auxiliary circuits for new and existing equipment ranging from 12 volts to 480 volts. Complete major machine repairs, provide detailed root cause analysis and develop preventive measure to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence. Periodically measure and record wear to equipment using precision measuring tools and oversee the ordering and replacement of the worn components. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating units, chillers, cooling towers, paint ovens, and burners. Record in detail major repairs, program changes, warranty repairs, equipment recalls or corrective actions in maintenance files. Perform these tasks in addition to Levels I and II.
The successful candidate must be dedicated and able to work in an organized and efficient manner, and must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
