SUMMARY:
This UI Designer is a long-term contracting position focused on designing a next-generation User Interface for an infotainment system, while collaborating with UX Designers and Software Developers. The UI Designer will have the creative freedom to shape the future of the digital cockpit experience. This role will ensure that the interface is safe to operate while driving, user-friendly across a broad range of user demographics, and aesthetically pleasing. The successful outcome improves customer satisfaction and increases business growth. The role also requires creative video and photo editing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with other designers to come up with new UI concepts for in-vehicle experiences through cluster or center screen displays. This could include other aspects of the interior experience (illumination, sound, animation, etc.) and other smart devices within the eco-system (phone, tablet, watch, augmented reality, etc.)
- Carry out the design concept and create production-ready graphics for HMI engineers to implement
- Define a style guide and visual language to help unify the look and feel of the UI
- Identify design issues that have been incorrectly implemented, create succinct bug reports, and follow up to ensure the issue is resolved in a timely manner.
- Keep up with the design trends in and outside of the automotive industry.
- Take pride in producing high-quality work, including fresh, clean design and staying well-organized.
- Learn new skills beyond UI/UX design and experiment and learn new software tools for delivering your design contributions.
- Interact professionally with engineers and suppliers worldwide
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related degree
- 3 years of experience in UI design
- 3 years of experience using Figma is required
- Experience with Sketch, XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Experience with 3D Modeling
- Well versed with video editing tools like Premier Pro
- Familiar with Atomic Design and Responsive Design concepts
- Adaptable to various brand identities
- Attention to detail and ability to structure design components for easy handoff to team
- Able to communicate and present design concepts to a diverse team of individuals
