Accountant I
SUMMARY:
This Accountant is responsible for monthly closing, preparing, and analyzing financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements and reports them to the Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monthly accounting activities including but not limited to Accounts receivable/Accounts payable processing, Fixed Assets, Prepaid amortization, Consolidation
- Bank accounts management, periodical reconciliation, including resolve discrepancies
- Sales tax exemption certificate process and sales tax filings
- Assist in reporting monthly Financial Statement (BS/ PL/CF), including journal entries and account reconciliations/ resolve discrepancies
- Assist in reporting monthly cost calculation
- Assist in reporting quarterly financial statement to Shareholders (Mitsui Tokyo)
- Assist in internal & external audit request for information
- Assist in preparation of tax return
- Assists in internal control assessment and improvement
- Assists in creating, updating and analyzing budget and forecast
- Communicates with concerned personnel within the company, parent company, external auditor / tax advisor / accounting advisor, project partner / vendor to complete tasks
- Counter party registration in the accounting system, including preparation of W-9/Misc1099
- Assist with other activities as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Basic business skills and knowledge (understanding normal business flow and ability to understand business documents such as contracts, invoices, and official letters) with analytical thinking
- System experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central), preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
- Strong arithmetic and organizational skills
- Ability to resolve problems on the tasks with reasonable assist
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written, in English)
- Ability to adapt to a cross-cultural environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required
- 1 3 years direct experience in accounting required
- Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) (preferred)
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Fluent verbal and written skills in English.
LICENCES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- CPA (desirable)

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical demands include:
