Fixed Income Product Controller – Treasury, AVP

Position Summary: A FID (Fixed Income Division) Product Controller is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the fixed Income trading desks. Desks include Interest Rate Products, Securitized Products, Credit Products, Debt Capital Markets, Derivative Products and Corp Treas. FID Product Controllers are responsible for the monitoring of transactions, P&L and act as a primary control function. This role will be aligned with the Corporate Treasury desk. Essential Job Duties: Daily, monthly and quarterly P&L production and analysis, including risk-based attribution Daily interaction with the Treasury trading desk Liaison with various areas within the firm (e.g. Operations, Technology, Middle Office and Market Risk) Process reengineering to improve efficiencies Month-end General Ledger closes Monthly Balance sheet substantiation for products supported and attestation of clearing and collateral accounts Daily Balance Sheet reporting Ad hoc requests from the desk Assess new trades for appropriate valuation, accounting treatment, and disclosure in the financial statements Work with financial control in preparation of external reporting Volcker metrics reporting along with commentary for regulatory submissions Cross train and back up other FID and Derivatives desks Qualifications: Fixed Income experience CPA or CFA preferred, but not required. Accounting or Finance degree required 4 years of product control experience High attention to detail with strong communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts Fast learner and team player Strong analytic and problem solving skills Highly proficient in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables) Other requirements Mizuho currently requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to work on-site (unless a legally-required accommodation or exemption has been approved).
