Requirements/Qualifications
- Telcom certification a plus
- Proficient in terminating, splicing and testing ISP & OSP fiber
- Familiar with BICSI,EIA,TIA and NEC standards
- 7 plus yrs experience working in commercial and industrial environments
- Experience pulling, terminating and testing CAT5/CAT5E and CAT6/CAT6A copper cabling.
- Experience installing fire alarm systems
- Conduit bending/installation experience a plus
- Solid/stable/proven experience in the communications field
- Read/comprehend tape measure, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, formulas and processing charts
- Communications Foremen must have knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards
- Communications Foremen will work from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders or man-lifts
- Operate, maintain, and work in close proximity to various power equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, drills, saws, hydraulic tools, and automatic machinery
- Communication Foremen drive MKD drive MKD safety culture by setting the example, displaying safe work habits, encouraging JSA usage, intervening as needed, assisting in all safety audits and investigations, and reinforcing safety as an inherent value to all Team Members.
- Take charge of and responsibility for all MKD activities occurring on your job site.
- Thoroughly understand project scope of work.
- Study blue prints, schematics, manuals and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Collaboratively work with Estimator/Project Manager to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
- Bring TM performance related matters to the attention of your supervisor or HR, as may be appropriate.
- Complete appropriate forms, reports and other required paperwork.
- Provide on-site orientation to new TM’s on their first day, as appropriate.
- Attend foreman meetings.
- Request inspections from appropriate municipality.
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
- Wear company issued uniform daily and insure your team dresses appropriately.
