Safety Trainer—Technical Training Advisor, based out of Leesburg, FL with travel
Company Information:
Full-service, publicly traded electric utility construction company based out of Chattanooga, TN to be based out of the Leesburg, Florida location. The parent company is a Fortune 200 company, a leader in the industry.
SUMMARY
We are looking for a Safety Trainer/Technical Training Advisor. This person will be responsible for safety training related to transmission lines, with prior safety experience and experience supervising others (general foreman or superintendent level) preferred. The ideal candidate needs to be a people person who can correct/coach people in a tactful manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions, safe work practices and behaviors in electric transmission and distribution substations and construction worksites.
- Recognizes hazardous energies and the proper elimination, controls, and barriers necessary to reduce risk of injuries and damages.
- Communicates, coaches and trains employees on the current HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Work Practices and Rules, safety procedures and policies.
- Conducts new employee, safety, human performance, and CPR / First Aid / AED training.
- Travel required 75% of the time
Qualifications
- OSHA 30 training; advanced OSHA construction standards knowledge.
- Experience in heavy construction practices and equipment preferred.
- High voltage electrical utility experience a plus.
- 5-7 years plus of experience in safety professional roles required for this position.
- CUSP certification, or OSHA training certification is a plus
- Taining delivery experience with safety related topics.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40-45/hour, depending on experience. $50 per diem 5 days of the week

Work Location: Based out of Leesburg, FL, with travel required at multiple locations within Florida with some overnight travel required. (Not required to live in Leesburg area as long as you’re willing to travel. This is a heavy travel job (~75% of the time.)
