MLC CAD Systems LLC is seeking a CAM/CNC Application Engineer for our Computer-Aided Manufacturing team.  MLC CAD Systems LLC is the #1 Value-Added Reseller (VAR) of Mastercam (CAM Software) the leader in 3D CAD/CAM technology. In addition, we represent Markforged (3D Printers) and SOLIDWORKS (CAD software) providing sales, training, and support for all products with 40 years of experience serving the industrial, medical, scientific, consumer, educational, technology, and transportation industries.

LOCATION: Southern Louisiana, preferably Lafayette, LA

Position Purpose: Provide pre- and post-sales support for Mastercam, and downstream applications including machine setup and product benchmarking.  Primary responsibilities include product demonstrations, competitive overviews, training, customer service, and post-processor development and editing.

Duties and Responsibilities of CAM (Mastercam) Application Engineer:

This role is responsible for providing product guidance and technical support for our sales team and our customers, responsibilities include.

• Conduct pre-sale activities including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment, and recommendations, part processing recommendations, and development of proposals.
• Develop and present product presentations and demonstrations, and sales and marketing content such as videos.
• Provide installation, implementation, and best practices techniques.
  Train customers in the set-up and operation of Mastercam and downstream applications.
• Maintain training hardware and infrastructure, including system backup, hardware upgrades, and general training room setup. 
• Provide phone and web-based troubleshooting for Mastercam software.
• Learn and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by MLC CAD Systems

Qualifications & Characteristics of CAM (Mastercam) Application Engineer:

• CAM programming experience (Mastercam preferred)
• Five plus years experience in CNC applications/manufacturing (you should be able to program a part, put it on a machine and cut it).
• Strong focus on customer success.
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
• Ability to produce written and video-based customer instructions.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups (such as teaching/training).
• The ability to work in a team and independently.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Willing to travel as needed. Some regional and overnight travel may be necessary.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• Mill-Turn and/or Five-axis CAM programming experience is a plus.
• Experience with robot and cell automation including PLC, networking, and peripheral devices is a plus.
