MLEE healthcare has been engaged by a local hospital in the northern part of Michigan. In addition to the hospital, the facility has 3 rural health clinics and an attached 39 bed Long Term Care facility. Helen Newberry Joy invites applications for the full-time position of Chief Financial Officer. The CFO is responsible for all financial operations of the facility and serves as a key member of the executive team and senior management. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and must work effectively with administration, managers/supervisors, medical staff, Board of Trustees, outside auditors, representatives of financial institutions and third party contractors, vendors, and purchasers of healthcare services.

- Will be responsible to coordinate the development of appropriate annual operating and capital budgets
- Will maintain control of all funds, expenditures, and business activities
- Participates administratively in policy development and strategic planning
- Ensures that management staff under their jurisdictions provides services efficiently and effectively
- Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Board members, managers, consumers and the general public
- Must have knowledge in the fundamentals of hospital organization, administration, standards and relationships of hospitals and the laws and regulations regarding operation and reimbursement.
- Must have the ability to perform a latitude of projects at one time and be accountable for continued progress
- Has knowledge of internal controls and the ability to use analytical thinking to problem solve
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting;
- CMA or CPA license in good standing or a Masters in Accounting;
- 5-7 years accounting experience required with 2-3 years of healthcare experience preferred, Critical Access Hospital/Rural Health Clinic experience is a plus;
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and internal controls;
- Experience in managing people required;
- Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
