MLee Healthcare has been engaged by our client to recruit a phlebotomist for their growing team NW of Columbus, OH.
Phlebotomist - PBT Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and collect blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper storage and transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection.
- Stay up-to-date with phlebotomy best practices, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines.
Phlebotomist - PBT Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Current certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and infection control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately label and track specimens.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
