Summary:
The cost control engineer assists the project controls manager in managing all aspects of a project including the organization, planning, scheduling, subcontractor scheduling, and day-to-day issues, in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. By ensuring proper company/customer procedures are followed, and established budgets and schedules are adhered to.
Job Description:
MMR is seeking Cost Engineer candidates with at least 3 years of electrical construction experience. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:
- The cost engineer will assist the project controls team in managing timekeeping, purchasing, and subcontracts.
- This includes but not limited to time keeping management, material quotations, material and subcontractor invoicing reviews, budget updates, client billing, etc. in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
- As required, interact with key members of the project team and client organization to set up, prepare, and maintain weekly/monthly project and program reports including cost forecasting, cash flow forecasting, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and upper management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting, Business Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or related field; or an equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 3 years of work experience in industrial construction
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
- Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
- Working knowledge of MS Office software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Regular and reliable attendance at work
