Moab Regional Hospital is seeking one Admissions Lead to join our team.
The Admissions Lead will supervisor the Admissions department in delivering superior care to every patient on every visit and will lead, motivate, and support a team of 18 employees in several different admissions areas to provide 24/7/365 admissions services to patients at Moab Regional Hospital. This position interacts on a daily basis with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and members of the public.
This is a full-time, year-round, and benefited position.

Starting hourly wage is $24.00.

What you'll do:
The main focus of this position is to ensure high quality service for patients and accuracy of information affecting both pre and post visit services. The Admissions Lead will work closely with the Manager of Admissions in overseeing the daily operations in (Main) outpatient registration, central scheduling, Emergency Department and Urgent Care. Duties include guidance and coverage for employees, monitoring quality measures, orientation of new employees and oversight in ongoing staff training.
Duties include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of registration areas
- Supervise, coach, and provide training for the Main, ED, and UC Admissions team.
- Assist in developing and maintaining written procedures and policies to guide, clarify and support staff
- Partner with the Manager of Admissions for quality assurance and reporting, evaluations, hiring and staffing
- Ensures team is aware of any policy changes, new tools available, and any potential issues that are occurring
- Establish benchmarks for staff performance
- Monitor accuracy, volume and productivity to ensure timely and accurate registration
- Monitor, organize, and delegate the team’s workload
- Enforce AIDET communication framework with admissions staff to drive positive patient interactions
- Monitor patient flow, ability to perform registration function when needed to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum
- Contribute to POS financial goals without compromising safety or quality of care
- Prepare work schedules and provide back-up payroll assistance
- Coordinate with other departments within the hospital to promote teamwork and streamline the patient experience
- Leads in the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare benefits plans including Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payors
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, CMS and other
- Professional attitude, reliable
- Ability to follow or provide verbal and written instructions
- Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, CMS compliance
- Knowledgeable of State and federal government funding programs such as Medicare, Utah Medicaid, SHIPS, VA, Tricare/Champus, Utah Workers Comp Fund, and commercial insurance plans

Physical requirements:
This position requires near-constant sitting and/or standing. The ability to hear/listen, see and the use of fine motor skills on a near constant basis. This position may require occasional medium-lifting, to include up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance. This position includes limited exposure to noise and/or odors.
Education and experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
- Intermediate computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
- Familiarity with electronic medical records software
- Medical terminology combination of education and/or experience
- Admitting, insurance eligibility and verification knowledge
- Must have 3-5 years of recent experience in a medical customer service related position
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital outpatient setting preferred; related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years of experience or knowledge of scheduling radiographic, Cardiopulmonary, obstetric, outpatient labs, IV therapy/wound care, or surgical procedures, strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
