What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver, Mobile Medical Unit position at Mobile Health?
The Mobile Unit Driver will play an integral role in supporting our onsite programs through transporting staff and supplies to various sites. In addition to providing transportation, the driver will take responsibility of the van and will report back on any van issues that may arise (i.e. gas, tires, engine, or other issues as noted). This position will require travel in and around the Farmville, Virginia area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload supplies and equipment from van as instructed for delivery to designated sites.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
- Ensure that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use.
- Follow schedule as provided on the itinerary with attention to punctuality, care, and accuracy,
- Utilize navigation apps to find most optimal routes.
- Provide transportation for medical staff to office or events as requested by Operations Coordinator/Project Manager.
- Ensure that van and all equipment is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
- When transporting temperature-sensitive medical supplies, understand alarms and data-logging equipment to ensure that handling protocols are followed.
- Provide feedback to Project Manager on customer issues, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
- Assist with setting up basic event equipment: tents, tables, signs, chairs, van awning, etc.
- Check email daily for updates regarding schedules and itinerary.
- Uniforms are not required and there is not a dress code. Use your professional judgement in choosing whatever is clean and comfortable.
Qualifications:
- 1 year van driving experience preferred, not required
- Clean and valid driver’s License.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Keen on working in a fast-paced environment where requirements can change on a dime.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility of availability
Position Type / Expected Hours:
**This is a temporary, full-time non-exempt position. Hours can vary and may start as early as 6am and end around 4 or 5pm, minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.
